Happy Thanksgiving !!!

Art class has been one of the unexpected delights of this cruise. Our teacher Deb is amazing and has wonderful and challenging projects for us. She always posts examples on the wall for us to choose what we would like to do that day. We work with watercolors which is a challenge itself. But we also have pen and ink options. So far, I have painted a Spanish tile, a fan featuring a bullfighter and bull, a pop-up card with a map on the front and a mermaid inside and a Zen doodle seahorse bookmark. Today I began an underwater scene of a sea turtle which will include doodles. Next time we are doing pop art Brazilian birds. This class along with the line dancing class make sea days a lot of fun!
Another aspect of art class is social. Anna and I paint at the same table with Michelle from Atlanta and Elaine from Fairfield Glade. In fact, art class is where we met these new friends. But I have also chatted with a couple from Lincoln, Nebraska and a lady from Franklin, TN. One of the extremely talented artists is also in line dancing and we chat there. I enjoyed our previous river cruise, but had said I missed the sea days which give us a chance to make new friends while participating in fun activities.

Ship passing in the morning
Interesting astronomical lecture this morning. Plus, a little more information on the Southern sky from the resident astronomer Paul. This was followed by a wide-ranging conversation with Paul, Bob and our new friend Pete while Shirley and Ann painted (see above).
A bit before noon the Jupiter changed course steaming NW to meet a helicopter to take care of a medical emergency.
