As Paul said, today is one of many days at sea. It is 80 and humid. One lap around the ship on the promenade deck is 1/4 mile. So we can get our daily walk in while looking for whales, dolphins, etc. so far we’ve seen lots of flying fish. We took in many lectures and are learning much about European explorers, the Vatican dividing the new world between the Spanish and Portuguese and the resulting conquests. We did learn that the Dutch were major players both in Recife Brazil (our next stop) and New Amsterdam (now New York). Go Orange. That’s Where Abraham Pieterson Van Deusen arrived at in 1636.  We learned the Dutch were early bankers and set up the stock market. It runs in the family.
