Sunrise over the Mediterranean Sea
Our systems are adapting to the 6 hour change. We all slept much better last night and were up at a reasonable hour. After another buffet breakfast (Salmon Benedict among other goodies) it was time to execute our plan. We took the 9:30 shuttle to the Columbus Column, then a taxi to Parc Guell. We spent the morning there walking around Gaudi’s vision (and Guell’s dollars) and posed and oohed and aahed and generally came away with a better understanding of Gaudi and his time.
We taxied back to Casa Batllo and walked down via Mallorca, past the hotel Shirley and Paul stayed in 2018. Then for Tapas at the Catalana just off the Ramblas. Then … Shirley spotted the Pikalino store and shopping ensued (to the delight of Paul as he now has a new pair as does Shirley). We continued down the crowded Ramblas to the place where or Shuttle was parked.
The creature of the Ramblas
Rain was forecast to begin around 3, but that did not happen because we toted our raincoats in our backpacks. Anyway, we were resting in the cabin at 3:05. Our plan was executed perfectly.
The afternoon was restful. Then the drill – Violin/Cello with snacks and wine, dinner at the regular restaurant, a short walk-about, Explorer lounge and guitar. Shirley and Paul finsished the night at the show. La Rumba Catalana – a mix of Cuban and Flamenco music – amazing guitar work and singing and dancing and fun audience interaction. A good time was had by all.
oh -- forgot - 14328 steps - slacker day :-)
