We attended 2 morning lectures, including one that started with the scientist/explorer Von Humboldt then leaped into the big bang, string theory, the evolution of life on earth and other assorted topics. Then after lunch, we were treated to a look thru a solar telescope. A 90mm Coronado aboard the heftiest Manfrotto carbon fiber tripod I've ever seen (possible Xmas present?). Despite the rolling seas and passing clouds, we were able to observe sunspots and two solar prominences. I wonder what the rest of the day will bring?
